This allows us to have the best deals for our authors and readers, and provide them with optimum service. Our books are actively marketed and sold through more than 80,000 booksellers and distributors all around the globe.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Reha
We strongly believe that good corporate citizenship and social engagement are significant criteria that should also be part of daily business. In this respect, we adhere to article 3 of the German Constitution, stating that “No one should be discriminated due to his or her disability”, and we give a helping hand to the local communities within which we work. Through continuous years of cooperation with Reha gmbh in Saarbrücken, Germany, the Group actively supports the disabled.

Books for Africa
Furthermore, being a Publishing House, the Group is engaged in the promotion of knowledge in the African continent. We support a simple but essential mission throughout our collaboration with ‘Books for Africa’: eradicating book famine in Africa. ‘Books For Africa’ supplies containers of books to rural school libraries, orphanages and community resource centers. One cannot find a better statement than the one of former UN General Secretary, Kofi Annan: “Books For Africa is a simple idea, but its impact is transformative. For us, literacy is quite simply the bridge from misery to hope.” We are convinced that democratization of literacy is the key to a better world and therefore we abide to this mission.

The Agape Foundation
VDM also supports the Agape foundation, which fights for bringing new vision of life and hope to mentally disabled children and adults in Romania and Moldova. A day care centre for youngsters will soon be operational in Stauceni. One of the objectives of this centre will be educating youngsters about basic hygiene and health care. Moreover, this centre will also enable and encourage the mentally disabled to work.

Our business model has been set up in accordance with the latest print technology, known as Print-to-Order. This technology enables us to do quick, efficient and, foremost, environmentally friendly printing. Besides, this innovation also allows us to cater to the market’s needs in a timely manner. In contrast to the traditional offset printing, our books are catalogued online and printed upon orders. Subsequently, our books are always available worldwide, without taking the risk of over-printing.
